Kō te kaupapa ā P2 he whākarite tīkā i ngā tamariki i mua te rima tau mō te urunga ki roto i te kura tuatāhi nā roto i tāna kaupapa whakaaro me ngā tikanga whakaako whānui.

P2's mission is to properly prepare pre-age 5 children for entry into mainstream Primary education through our philosophy and wider pedagogics.

P2 Philosophy

At Premium Preschool we believe every child is unique and to cater for this, our aim is to create a programme that is rich with a diverse range of activities within a flexible, stimulating and inclusive environment, which is led by the children's own innovations and interests.

Learning experiences that motivate widespread children participation are promoted, with a view to them questioning, experimenting and investigating new ideas and activities through free, independent play and group activities. These experiences will inspire the children to embrace challenges and find joy and self-worth through their achievements.

They feel empowered as confident capable learners, enabling them to master cognitive, social and physical skills necessary for a smooth transition to primary school.

At P2, a sense of community and belonging is highly valued and this is promoted through well developed close partnerships with our P2 whanau. We actively encourage family involvement in their child's learning journey with family beliefs and culture being recognised and affirmed in a respectful manner.

We aim to help children develop self-respect, respect for others and for the natural world. This is achieved by providing opportunities for the children to explore the local area where they can connect with the community, and with nature. We believe this will also improve their wellbeing through physical and emotional resilience, as they are encouraged to take [controlled] risks in their own learning.

Our philosophy embodies the principles of Aotearoa's early childhood curriculum; Te Whariki. We continually reflect on our teaching practices and policies in order to meet the changing needs and aspirations of our families.
